In the early 1700s John and William started a tradition that sparked 3 generations of care. From making the instruments that helped surgeons save lives, to manufacturing artificial limbs for injured soldiers during the war, the Salts family always had the welfare of everyday people at heart.

Today Salts Healthcare is one of the oldest family-owned companies in the UK and we're still committed to improving the lives of our patients all over the world. Ted Salt brought the first ostomy product into the UK in 1948, hand-making pouches in an effort to improve the lives of ostomists nationwide.. His groundbreaking work marked the start of our journey to becoming one of the leading designers, manufacturers and suppliers of stoma care products.

Our Confidence® and Second Nature® ranges are well known for offering a comprehensive choice of urostomy, ileostomy and colostomy products, designed to help the one-piece and twopiece user enjoy a more confident lifestyle. Patients can choose from a wide range of sizes, wafer shapes and cover options.

Harmony® Duo
Launched in 2008, Harmony® Duo truly gives patients the best of both worlds. It offers all the advantages of a one-piece, such as an ultra-slim profile and flexible wafer, with all the convenience of a two-piece system; the unique ‘docking system’ and skin friendly flange makes pouch changes so much easier.

Stoma Solutions
Our range of easy-to-use Stoma Solutions has been specifically developed to alleviate the problems faced by ostomists such as leaks, sore skin, residue, odour, skin protection and adhesion, giving patients the security, confidence and peace of mind they need to enjoy life to the full.

Peri-Prep® Sensitive
The only water-based skin barrier film that has been designed to create a gentle, protective film on the skin to give maximum protection without stinging. Salts are proud to have worked with Aston University to develop Peri-Prep® Sensitive which is kind, but cost effective.

The area of skin around the stoma needs special care and attention to reduce the risk of soreness. That's why our whole range of hydrocolloids is hypoallergenic and suitable for use on sensitive skin.

We're proud to be the first company to have received accreditation by the British Skin Foundation for the research and development of comfortable, secure and skin-friendly adhesives. As the only ostomy product manufacturer to receive this exclusive accreditation, Salts Healthcare is leading the industry in ‘Skin Friendliness’.
